Salt
Development Coordination
Based
on the city inhabitants' initiatives to do more for their
hometown the Salt Development Cooperation was established.
The
institute was originally established as a voluntary effort
governed by its management board, its executive committee
and its volunteers committee.
On
May 23rd 1982 the Board of the Prime Ministers approved the
establishment of this organization, as an entity designed
to develop the basic public services needed fir the city and
its people. The organization was to build projects that were
volunteer based. These projects were to be funded through
the income gained by the entity from imitation fees, yearly
subscriptions and grants.
Based
on the success of this initiative the Board of the Prime Ministers
decided to transport this innovative idea to other cities
in Jordan.
The
Association was a big help for the Municipality, for it provided
technical, financial, and administrative support to it. Its
management board conducted joint meetings with the leading
figures from the municipality, and it was during these meetings
that issues related to goal setting and project management
were discussed.
