Zay in the common words means the saying, it is said that its name came after a Roman Leader called ZAYA. It is located at the north of Salt and is distant away from it around 9.9 KM.

The Total Land Area of Zay is around 10% of the total population of Greater Salt, the total population of Zay are 2580 people , Committee village of Zay was founded in 1982 , and zay became a Municipality in 1993.
