This name was mentioned in the Othman Records in the 16th century , it was known on the maps in 1947 as a housing community , it is located at the south of Salt , at the height of 650-510 KM , and is a distance of 9.6 KM , it has allot of springs and fountains , and it is known to its Agricultural seasonal productions, the total area of Yarka is 4.154 km2 , which is 5.2 % of the total Area of Greater Salt , its population is 1275 people , Committee village of Yarka was founded in 1968 , and it became a Municipality in 1983.
